21st Birthday

My 21st Birthday celebration was a blast! Firstly, I would like to say THANK YOU to ALL MY FRIENDS!!!

Now my birthday falls on the 9th of May. However, my birthday also happens to be within the study week of my uni, and in my uni, study week is the week before the FINALs. So you see that I am abit sueh cos I have to celebrate my birthday during the stressful exam period. But I still celebrate it, the heck with the exams (nolar, actually i had planned to spend sleepless nights dating with my lecture notes and past year papers before and after my birthday).

My birthday celebration actually starts one week before my actual birthday. This is because the people who are celebrating with me are having their exams on the same day as me and we all don't wanna risk having stomachache while attempting the exam questions, do we? So we all gathered at a place called Alai. We had siakap bakar with sambal, fried sotong rings, lala, pari bakar with sambal oso. The food was great and the company was even better!!! Apparently we were having soooo much fun that we forgot to take any pictures on that day. After the meal, we wanted to have some fun at a karaoke parlor, but it was too expensive on that night so we decided to have a go at a cyber cafe instead. I know, it's pretty lame to celebrate ur birthday in a cyber cafe but as long as we enjoyed the company, who cares? We played till late night and that's when we decided to go home and sleep and start worrying about the exams.

So the week passed with me spending time having group study with my coursemates. And the day of my birthday finally arrives. This time it was a proper birthday celebration but we decided to keep the celebration as simple as possible as the exams are due next week. So we head to a small burger stall near an apartment in front of MMU and we have the normal birthday song, candle blowing and cake distributing. But, before all that were to happen, they forced a t-shirt on me and after that i could see everyone else was looking at me and laughing and pointing at me. Darn, not until when I reached home did I realized why everyone was laughing at me.

In the end, they gave me a gold key with the digits "21" carved on its handle. This is the first time I have received gold presents.

After the first week of exams, i celebrated my birthday (again!), this time with my friends from my secondary school years. I was treated to a lunch at Nando's and I have one more birthday cake to eat! It also means another wish for me too! My birthday presents and card however was to follow soon after.

And my birthday card and presents arrived just yesterday. We have a usual mamak session and I ended up with 2 birthday presents! TWO! woohoo! The first one I received is a dreamcatcher. It is soooo cool! I first saw it on the tele promoting a movie with the same name. It was a preview and I remembered vividly the title with the actual dreamcatcher as its background. Ever since then, I wanted one dreamcatcher myself. I didn't watched the movie though.

My second present was given to me by Ray. It is a potrait with photos of me and my friends in various gatherings. It really brings back fond memories. Basically, I really love my time spent in my secondary school. Compared to the stressful uni life now and even more stressful worklife in the future, life in secondary school was like heaven! Everything was sooooo relaxed and everyone was sooooo fun to be with. Thank you Esther for the nice photos and the design, and thank you for making me going all emotional...

Last but definitely not the least is my handmade birthday card. You can receive alot of birthday cards, but how many handmade ones do YOU have? I have friends who are very creative and great in handicrafts. THANK YOU, DAPHNE!

MY Birthday Card!

However, reading the messages that was left by my friends in the card set me wondering as well, when have I become not "kuai" anymore? Since when was I mischievous in the first place?

anyway...

THANK YOU GUYS SOOOOOOO MUCH!!!

sumthing about blogging bugger

I have never see myself as a blogging person, prefering to keep most things to myself. However, things change when you have too much free time and nothing much to fill it up with. You start to get bored with the same computer games and too much television makes you feel sick. So i took up blogging instead, not that it made me feel any healthier, it just give me another reason to stay home, especially when the fuel prices had increased so much! I had to stay within budget and I have even drawn out a budget plan to keep me on track of my spendings. Not that I wan to be kiam siap or anything but it is time to be thrifty. Why do the fuel prices keep on increasing and increasing anyway??? I begin to see myself and probably everyone else riding bicycles in the future if some genius don't come up with an affordable alternative fuel soon. Heck, i guess by the time we start using some alternative fuel, the world would be choking with carbon dioxide and other poisonous gases that we are barely able to live long enough to enjoy the benefits of the alternative fuel. Or perhaps history repeats itself when the alternative fuel itself starts to get more and more expensive. Speaking of armageddon, there seems to be more and more catastrophies happening around the world. The recent earthquake in China is a dreadful example of what is going to happen in the future. The climate is changing so erratic that we begin to see more storms and floods everywhere around the world. I dread the day when Malaysia get hit by one of those mega storms. I guess it's time to make the most out of life while we are still alive.

By the way, I am a tall, skinny boy with a face crowded with pimples.
